Please note that slides will not be shown at every meeting – see the schedule below!

PRINTS & MINI-PRINTS REQUESTED FOR ALL COMPETITION EVENINGS, SLIDES ONLY WHERE STATED

Note: on those evenings when there is no slide competition, the judges will be allocated 20 minutes to discuss interesting aspects of their work

January
Against the light: An image in which the main source of illumination lies behind the subject as opposed to the front or sides.  NO SLIDES
Note: AGM to precede competition

February
Educational evening

March
Highways or byways: An image featuring a freeway or highway or a narrow road, lane or track. If shown passing through a built up area, the buildings must be secondary to the road. SLIDES

April
Landscape: An image featuring the natural scenery of the terrain. A tree or trees, people or buildings may be included but should not dominate the photograph. SLIDES

May
Angles and/or curves: An image featuring an object / objects in which angles or curves or both play an important part in design of the scene. The arrangement itself should have pictorial merit. SLIDES

June
Interior design: An image predominantly featuring the interior of a room or building emphasizing design features and not dominated by humans or robots. SLIDES

July
The range of human emotions: Image depicting humour, sadness, compassion etc. SLIDES

August
Educational evening

Wave study: A photograph showing a single or series of waves. Rocks or the coastline or any other feature may be complementary to the wave(s). SLIDES

October
Educational evening

November
Spirit of Music: An image capturing the excitement, rhythm, exhilaration or other qualities of musical performance – jazz, modern or classical. NO SLIDES.

December
End-of-year wind-up: Exhibition of best (judged) work for year, presentation of awards & trophies.
